Marytha

Curated and Crafted Women Accessories

May 18, 2018

Welcome to Marytha!

Finally, it’s launch day!  Welcome to Marytha.

My name is Monday and I’m delighted you stopped by. I started this blog to encourage other homeschool moms through our own journey. I’m excited to share this walk with you as we discover the joy and beautiful chaos of homeschooling.

The idea of blogging actually came from my firstborn son, Keefer. We were chatting about God’s purpose for our lives and how we can use our talents to bring glory to His name. Then halfway through the conversation he said, “Well, we can blog about homeschool.” And he went on saying how we can bless other families through the blog. I thought it was a brilliant idea and at the same time scary.

First of all, I am not a seasoned homeschooler. What if I don’t have all the answers?

Second, I am not a creative writer.  In fact, I’m not really a big fan of essays when I was in school.

I can go on and on with excuses on why I cannot do it but God’s voice is clearer than ever. A verse came to my rescue and it said.

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength – Philippians 4:13

I realized that THIS is not all about me.

If I resolve to live a life devoted to God, I have to live a life fully surrendered to Him. I have to give Him my all – my body, health, husband, children, possession including my writing skills (or lack of).

When we started homeschooling in 2015, some thought we were insane. And they were somehow right.

The first few months were rough.  Homeschooling unveiled my weaknesses, imperfections and insecurities. The hustle of unending to do lists and the pressure to get things right were overwhelming. I was consumed by worry (letting down my kids), guilt (disappointing God) and comparison (with other moms and kids).

Through the years, the “growing pains” taught me a valuable lesson. It is okay not to know EVERYTHING. Homeschooling is not about teaching my kids what I know. It runs deeper than that. It is about growing in wisdom, patience, joy, and self-control with our children as we guide and lead them.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

So with prayers tucked in my heart and blessings from my husband, here I am today, taking the plunge.

UNQUALIFIED.

Because, I am never going to be enough. God doesn’t wait for me to have it all.  No one ever has it all.

All I’ve got is a heart aligned with God’s purpose for my life.   He has already equipped me with what I need – His love & grace.

After all, the stories I share in this blog are not mine – they are His! Not a single post in this blog would exist, without the true Author of my life.

May this blog bring hope and encouragement as we share our journey in fulfilling what God has called us to do.
